AFAIK, LEDs flicker at frequencies higher than the mains (50 or 60 Hz) which would allow for shorter exposure times. I'd expect a shutter speed of 1/30s using the mechanical shutter (not electronic) of your DSLR should even out any flicker, even from old-fashioned flourescent tubes. Could you describe how your DSLR "struggles" with your LED panels?
